Front lower ball joint designed for 1999–2005 Chrysler, Dodge and Mitsubishi passenger vehicles. This replacement front lower ball joint secures the steering knuckle to the control arm, maintaining proper wheel alignment and suspension geometry. Built for durability and reliable performance, it restores steering precision, reduces play and vibration, and helps prevent premature tire wear. Engineered for direct-fit installation, it’s suitable for both right-hand and left-hand applications and is ideal for suspension repairs and vehicle restorations.
Features:
- Fitment: Direct-fit front lower ball joint for 1999–2005 Chrysler, Dodge, and Mitsubishi models (front, lower — right or left hand).
- Heavy-duty construction for long-lasting durability and corrosion resistance.
- Restores proper steering alignment and reduces suspension play and vibration.
- Direct replacement for worn or damaged OEM ball joints — ideal for restores and routine maintenance.
- Pre-greased and sealed design for extended service life and low maintenance.
- Fits both right-hand and left-hand positions to simplify ordering and inventory.
Installation / Application:
- Difficulty: 3/5
- Estimated time: 1–2 hours per side
Instructions:
- Park vehicle on level ground, set parking brake, and chock rear wheels.
- Loosen front wheel lug nuts slightly, lift the front of the vehicle with a jack and support securely on jack stands, then remove the wheel.
- Remove any components blocking access to the ball joint (e.g., brake caliper and rotor if necessary).
- Disconnect the sway bar link or ABS sensor wiring if it interferes with removal.
- Remove the cotter pin and castle nut (or retaining fastener) from the ball joint stud. Apply penetrating spray if needed.
- Use a ball joint separator or pickle fork to separate the ball joint stud from the steering knuckle. A rubber mallet or hammer may help free a stubborn joint.
- Unbolt the ball joint from the control arm (or press out if factory-pressed). Retain hardware if reusing where applicable or discard if damaged.
- Install the new ball joint into the control arm or knuckle per vehicle-specific orientation; secure with supplied or OEM fasteners. If press-fit is required, use a hydraulic press or professional tool.
- Torque all fasteners to vehicle manufacturer specifications and install a new cotter pin where required.
- Reinstall any removed components (rotor, caliper, sway bar link, ABS wiring) and remount the wheel.
- Lower the vehicle, torque lug nuts to spec, and perform a test drive at low speed to confirm proper steering and suspension function.
- Have a professional wheel alignment performed after installation to ensure correct toe/camber settings and to prevent uneven tire wear.
