Inner tie rod end for 2004–2009 Chrysler and Dodge vehicles (right or left hand). This replacement inner tie rod connects the steering rack to the outer tie rod, providing accurate steering response and maintaining proper front-end alignment. Engineered for strength and corrosion resistance, the part features a 15mm thread at the outer tie rod connection and a 24mm thread at the rack end for direct fitment. Ideal for restoring steering precision, eliminating play, and improving vehicle safety and handling.

  • 24mm wrench or inner tie rod removal tool

  • Penetrating oil
  • Marker or tape measure
Instructions:
  1. Park on a level surface, engage parking brake, and loosen front wheel lug nuts slightly.
  2. Raise the vehicle with a floor jack and support securely on jack stands. Remove the front wheel.
  3. Apply penetrating oil to the outer and inner tie rod joints if corroded.
  4. Loosen the jam nut on the outer tie rod (mark the position or measure the length from a reference point to preserve alignment).
  5. Separate the outer tie rod from the steering knuckle using a tie rod end puller or pickle fork and remove the cotter pin if present.
  6. Unscrew the outer tie rod from the inner tie rod (15mm thread connection) and set the outer assembly aside.
  7. Support the steering rack or inner tie rod and use a 24mm wrench or dedicated inner tie rod tool to unthread the inner tie rod from the rack (24mm thread at rack end).
  8. Inspect rack boot and seals; replace the boot if damaged before installing the new inner tie rod.
  9. Thread the new inner tie rod into the rack to the original depth and torque to manufacturer specifications.
  10. Reinstall the outer tie rod onto the new inner tie rod, adjust to the original measured length or alignment reference, and tighten the jam nut.
  11. Reconnect the outer tie rod to the steering knuckle, install any cotter pins, and torque all fasteners to spec.
  12. Reinstall the wheel, lower the vehicle, and torque the wheel lug nuts to specification.
  13. Have a professional wheel alignment performed after installation to ensure proper steering and tire wear.
