Front lower ball joint (right or left) designed for 2002–2017 Dodge, Jeep, and Mitsubishi models. This precision-machined suspension component secures the lower control arm to the steering knuckle, providing a stable pivot point for steering and suspension movement. Built to restore proper alignment, reduce play and vibration, and prevent premature tire wear, the unit is engineered for durability and reliable performance under road and load stress. Ideal for restoration or replacement when worn ball joints cause clunking, looseness, or uneven tire wear.
Features:
- Fitment: 2002–2017 Dodge, Jeep, and Mitsubishi vehicles (front lower, right or left hand).
- High-strength steel construction with corrosion-resistant finish for long service life.
- Restores secure attachment between lower control arm and steering knuckle to eliminate play.
- Helps reduce vibration, improve steering response, and prevent uneven tire wear.
- Direct-replacement design for easy fitment without modification.
- Pre-greased or serviceable design options to simplify maintenance and extend life.
Installation / Application:
- Difficulty: 3/5
- Estimated time: 1–2 hours per side
Instructions:
- Park vehicle on level ground, engage parking brake, loosen front wheel lug nuts slightly.
- Raise the front of the vehicle with a floor jack and support securely on jack stands. Remove the front wheel.
- Spray the ball joint fasteners and surrounding components with penetrating oil and allow to soak.
- Remove any components blocking access to the lower ball joint (such as sway bar end link or brake caliper bracket) as needed.
- Separate the lower control arm from the steering knuckle using a ball joint separator or pickle fork; take care not to damage the boot or knuckle.
- Unbolt the ball joint from the lower control arm (or press out if it's a pressed-in style) and remove the old ball joint.
- Clean the mounting surface and inspect the control arm and knuckle for damage. Replace any damaged components before installing the new part.
- Install the new ball joint in the control arm or press into position; secure with the supplied fasteners and torque to the vehicle manufacturer's specifications.
- Reassemble any removed components, reinstall the wheel, lower the vehicle, and torque the lug nuts to spec.
- Test drive and verify proper steering and suspension function. Have a professional alignment performed if suspension geometry was disturbed.
