Inner tie rod end designed for 2013–2021 Ram pickup trucks (1500, 2500, 3500). This precision-forged replacement part secures the inner end of the steering rack-to-tie-rod assembly, maintaining proper steering alignment and reducing play. Built for durable, reliable performance, it restores steering response, improves vehicle safety, and resists wear from road exposure. The part fits either right- or left-hand applications and is ideal for repair, restoration, or routine steering-system maintenance.
Features:
- Fits 2013–2021 Ram 1500, 2500, 3500 pickup trucks (inner tie rod end, right or left hand).
- High-strength steel construction with corrosion-resistant finish for long service life.
- Restores proper steering alignment and tightens steering feel by replacing worn inner tie rod ends.
- Precision ball-stud and boot design reduce vibration and play for improved handling and safety.
- Direct-fit replacement for factory steering components—no modifications required.
- Greaseable or sealed design (confirm specific SKU) for maintenance flexibility and extended durability.
Installation / Application:
- Difficulty: 3/5
- Estimated time: 60-120 minutes
Instructions:
- Park vehicle on a level surface, engage parking brake, and chock rear wheels.
- Loosen front wheel lug nuts, raise vehicle with a jack, and secure on jack stands. Remove the front wheel.
- Locate the inner tie rod end on the steering rack and mark the position of the outer tie rod on the threaded section to preserve alignment.
- Apply penetrating oil to castle nuts and threaded connections. Remove cotter pin (if present) and loosen the castle nut or tie rod end nut.
- Use a tie rod separator or pickle fork to disconnect the outer tie rod from the steering knuckle, then unscrew the outer tie rod from the inner tie rod to free the assembly.
- Loosen and remove the inner tie rod retaining nut(s) at the steering rack. Carefully unscrew or extract the inner tie rod from the rack, taking care not to damage the rack seal.
- Compare the new inner tie rod to the removed unit to confirm correct orientation and length. Install the new inner tie rod by threading it into the steering rack to the factory engagement depth or to the previously marked position.
- Reattach the outer tie rod to the new inner tie rod and thread to the marked position. Torque all nuts to manufacturer specifications and install new cotter pins where required.
- Reinstall the wheel, lower the vehicle, and torque the wheel lug nuts to spec.
- Because inner tie rod replacement can alter toe alignment, have a professional wheel alignment performed immediately after installation to ensure proper tire wear and steering geometry.
