Instructions:
- Open and support the rear liftgate so it remains stable during work.
- Locate the existing bumper on the liftgate and inspect the mounting hardware.
- If present, apply penetrating oil to rusty bolts/nuts and allow it to soak briefly.
- Remove the mounting bolt(s) or fasteners securing the old bumper using the appropriate socket or screwdriver.
- Pull the old bumper free; if corroded, use pliers to help remove any stuck components and clean the mounting surface with a rag.
- Position the new BMP 032 bumper on the liftgate mounting point, aligning the hole(s) with the stud(s) or bolt location.
- Install and hand-tighten the mounting bolt(s) to hold the bumper in place, then torque to a snug fit—do not over-tighten to avoid deforming the bumper.
- Close the liftgate slowly to verify alignment, clearance, and proper cushioning. Adjust if necessary.
- Recheck fasteners after a short test drive and retighten if needed.
