Instructions:
- Lower the window glass to a position that allows access to the run channel edges (about halfway).
- Remove the inner door panel: take out screws, pry off trim clips carefully with a trim tool, and disconnect any electrical connectors.
- Peel back the plastic vapor/water barrier carefully to expose the inner door cavity and the channel mounting area.
- If present, remove any retainers or clips holding the old channel; carefully pull the old channel out of the door frame starting from the top edge.
- Clean the channel mounting area and wipe away dirt or old adhesive; inspect window edge for burrs or damage.
- Spray a light coat of silicone or rubber-safe lubricant onto the new channel's sealing lips to ease installation.
- Insert the top edge of the new channel into the door frame groove, then work the channel down and seat any retaining edges or clips so it sits flush.
- Re-seat the window glass into the new channel, slowly cycling the window up and down to ensure smooth, correct alignment and to check for binding or gaps.
- Reinstall the vapor barrier, reconnect any electrical connectors, and reattach the inner door panel and all trim screws/clips.
- Test the window operation several times and check for proper sealing against wind and water intrusion.
