- Complete kit provides main exterior weatherstrips for doors, trunk, and hood where applicable.
- Made from weather-resistant rubber for long-lasting sealing against water, dust, and drafts.
- OEM-style profiles restore original fit and finish and help reduce wind and road noise.
- Helps protect interior panels and electrical components from moisture and corrosion.
- Designed for straightforward replacement—adhesive-ready and compatible with standard fasteners.
Installation / Application:
- Difficulty: 2/5
- Estimated time: 1–3 hours (depending on vehicle and number of seals replaced)
Instructions:
- Confirm kit contents and compare each new seal to the corresponding original seal to ensure correct placement.
- Remove old weatherstripping: gently pry out retainers or pull strip from channel; use pliers for stubborn clips.
- Clean the mounting surfaces and channels thoroughly with rubbing alcohol or adhesive cleaner to remove old adhesive, dirt, and debris; allow to dry.
- Test-fit the new seal in place without adhesive to confirm orientation and trimming needs; mark any trimming points with masking tape.
- Apply a thin, even bead of weatherstrip adhesive to the mounting channel or to the bulb base of the new seal as recommended by the adhesive manufacturer.
- Starting at one end, press the new weatherstrip firmly into the channel, working along the length and using finger pressure or a trim tool to seat it fully; install any retaining clips as required.
- Trim excess material with a utility knife for a clean fit at corners or ends; reinstall or replace fasteners and clips where applicable.
- Allow adhesive to cure per adhesive instructions (usually 30 minutes to several hours) before closing doors, trunk, or hood to ensure a secure bond.
- Inspect the seal for uniform compression and gaps; make final adjustments if necessary and test for leaks after curing by lightly spraying water around sealed areas.
