This 4-piece beltline molding kit is a direct-replacement set designed specifically for 1990 Dodge Dakota convertible models. The left- and right-hand pieces restore the window beltline, protect the glass edge and door finish, and help stop water intrusion and wind noise common with worn or missing moldings. Engineered for long-lasting performance, the kit improves sealing and appearance for restoration or maintenance projects while offering a straightforward, vehicle-specific fit for easy installation.
Features:
- Fits 1990 Dodge Dakota Convertible — left & right, 4-piece beltline molding kit.
- Durable, weather-resistant rubber extrusion with corrosion-resistant mounting hardware for long service life.
- Secures and protects the window beltline, prevents water intrusion and reduces wind noise and vibration.
- Direct-fit replacement designed to align with original mounting points for simple installation.
- Ideal for restoration and maintenance — replaces cracked, faded or missing moldings to restore factory appearance and functionality.
Installation / Application:
- Difficulty: 2/5
- Estimated time: 30-45 minutes
Instructions:
- Carefully lower the window and remove the old beltline molding: use a trim removal tool or flat-blade screwdriver to disengage retaining clips, working from one end to the other.
- Remove any remaining clips or fasteners from the channel and discard any rusted or damaged hardware.
- Thoroughly clean the beltline channel and surrounding area with isopropyl alcohol to remove dirt, old adhesive and debris; allow to dry.
- Test-fit new molding pieces to confirm left/right orientation and alignment with mounting holes or clips.
- If new clips are provided, install them on the molding per the kit’s layout; for adhesive-backed sections, remove backing when ready to seat the molding.
- Seat the new molding into the channel, pressing firmly to engage clips and ensure full contact along the length; start from one end and work to the other to avoid gaps.
- If desired, apply a thin bead of silicone sealant at each end or around any fastener locations to enhance water sealing (wipe away excess).
- Cycle the window a few times to confirm smooth operation and proper clearance, then re-check fit and clip engagement.
