Instructions:
- Park vehicle on a level surface, disconnect battery if working near electronics, and roll the window fully up.
- Remove the interior door panel or trim as needed to access the weatherstrip mounting channel (use a trim tool to avoid damage).
- Carefully peel away the old weatherstrip from the door edge and mounting channel; remove any clips or fasteners.
- Clean the mounting channel thoroughly with rubbing alcohol or adhesive cleaner to remove dirt, old adhesive and residue; allow to dry.
- Test-fit the new weatherstrip pieces along the door edge to confirm orientation (left/right) and alignment; trim excess with a utility knife if necessary.
- If adhesive is required, apply a thin, even coat of weatherstrip adhesive to the mounting channel or the seal per the adhesive manufacturer’s instructions.
- Starting at the hinge end, press the new weatherstrip into the channel, working along the door edge and ensuring the bulb and flange seat fully into the channel and corners.
- Use masking tape to hold the seal in place while adhesive cures if recommended; remove tape after the cure period.
- Reinstall any clips and the interior door panel, test the door for smooth closing and check for gaps or leaks by running a bead of water along the seam or performing a water spray test.
- Make final adjustments or trim small areas if needed to ensure a continuous, even seal.
