Precision Quarter Window Weatherstrip Seal, Left Hand QWL 3410 73 is a direct-fit left-side quarter window seal engineered to restore a watertight, wind-noise-free seal on select 1973 vehicles. Molded from durable EPDM rubber to match original profiles, this seal resists ozone, UV degradation, and temperature cycling for long-lasting performance. It seals the glass to the body, reduces vibration and rattles, and provides an OEM-style fit and finish—ideal for restorations, replacements, or routine maintenance.
Features:
- Fits left-hand quarter window on select 1973 vehicles — verify exact make and model compatibility prior to purchase.
- Molded EPDM rubber construction for superior weather, UV, and ozone resistance.
- OEM-style profile ensures proper sealing against water, wind noise, and vibration.
- Durable material restores original fit and finish for classic vehicle restorations.
- Simple trim-and-install design for a straightforward replacement.
Installation / Application:
- Difficulty: 2/5
- Estimated time: 30-60 minutes
Instructions:
- Park vehicle on level ground and ensure the quarter window and surrounding area are accessible.
- Carefully remove interior trim and any molding that retains the quarter window to expose the old weatherstrip.
- If the glass must be moved, support it or follow vehicle-specific procedures to lower or remove the glass per factory guidance.
- Remove the old weatherstrip by gently prying it out of the channel using a plastic pry tool to avoid damaging paint or trim.
- Clean the channel thoroughly with isopropyl alcohol or an appropriate cleaner to remove dirt, adhesive residue, and old sealant. Allow to dry.
- Test-fit the new QWL 3410 73 seal along the channel, ensuring orientation is correct for the left-hand side and the fit matches the original profile.
- If adhesive is recommended for your application, apply a thin bead of weatherstrip adhesive to the channel following the adhesive manufacturer's instructions.
- Press the new weatherstrip into the channel starting at one end, working toward the other, making sure the sealing lip seats evenly. Use a rubber roller or soft block to press the seal fully into place without stretching.
- Trim any excess material with a utility knife for a clean finish, taking care not to cut into the channel or body.
- Reinstall any removed glass, trim, and molding. Test the window operation (if applicable) and check for leaks by gently spraying water around the seal.
- Allow adhesive to cure per product instructions before driving in wet conditions.
