A direct-fit right-hand quarter window weatherstrip designed to restore proper sealing and weatherproofing to 1973 right-side quarter windows. This OEM-style seal replaces deteriorated rubber and worn retainers to stop water intrusion, reduce wind noise, and protect interior trim and upholstery. Constructed from durable, weather-resistant rubber with a reinforced retaining channel, it offers long-lasting performance and reliable fitment for restoration and maintenance projects.
Features:
- Fits select 1973 vehicles with right-hand (RH) quarter window—verify fitment for your make and model before ordering.
- Made from durable, weather-resistant EPDM-style rubber to resist cracking, shrinking, and UV damage.
- Features a reinforced metal/retainer channel for secure attachment and correct window alignment.
- Prevents water leaks and reduces wind noise for improved cabin comfort and protection.
- OEM-style replacement ideal for restoration projects and preserving original appearance.
- Designed for straightforward installation with basic hand tools—no special presses required in most applications.
Installation / Application:
- Difficulty: 2/5
- Estimated time: 30-60 minutes
Instructions:
- Park vehicle on level ground, lower the window (if applicable) and disconnect battery if removing any powered components.
- Remove interior quarter trim panel and any fasteners or clips that block access to the existing weatherstrip.
- Carefully pry out the old weatherstrip and retaining channel; remove any clips or screws holding it in place.
- Clean the channel and surrounding metal with rubbing alcohol or adhesive cleaner to remove dirt, old adhesive, and debris. Allow to dry.
- Test-fit the new weatherstrip in the channel to confirm orientation and fit. Trim excess length if necessary using a utility knife.
- If the new seal requires adhesive, apply a thin, even bead of weatherstrip adhesive to the channel per adhesive manufacturer instructions.
- Starting at one end, press the new weatherstrip firmly into the channel, engaging the retaining edge completely. Work along the length, ensuring a uniform fit without twists or gaps.
- Reinstall any clips or fasteners removed earlier and reattach the interior trim panel.
- Operate the window (if applicable) to check for proper clearance and fit. Inspect for leaks by gently spraying water around the seal or using a leak test once reinstalled.
