Instructions:
- Carefully remove the old weatherstrip: pry out any retained edges and peel away adhesive residue.
- Clean the mounting flange/channel thoroughly with rubbing alcohol or a mild solvent and a clean cloth; allow to dry.
- Test-fit the new seal on the window edge or flange to confirm orientation (groove-free side will compress against the glass or frame).
- If needed, apply a light coating of soapy water or silicone lubricant to the sealing surface to ease installation.
- Press the seal into place along the entire length, starting at one end and working to the other; ensure even compression and that the seal sits flush with the frame.
- Trim any excess material with a utility knife or scissors for a neat finish.
- If your application requires extra holding power, apply approved weatherstrip adhesive at the manufacturer-recommended locations and allow cure time per adhesive instructions.
- Check for a consistent seal by closing the window and inspecting for gaps. Perform a water test if necessary and re-seat or add adhesive where leaks appear.
