This rear window weatherstrip seal is a direct-fit replacement designed for 1984–1996 Jeep Cherokee models. It secures and cushions the rear glass, forming a watertight seal to prevent leaks, reduce wind noise, and protect the vehicle interior from the elements. Molded from durable, weather-resistant rubber, the seal restores proper glass alignment and appearance for reliable long-term performance. The design is without a trim groove, matching applications that mount the glass directly into the body channel.
Features:
  • Fitment: 1984–1996 Jeep Cherokee (rear window).
  • Constructed from durable, weather- and ozone-resistant rubber for long service life.
  • Seals rear glass to body to prevent water intrusion and reduce wind noise.
  • Designed without a trim groove for direct channel mounting and OE-style fit.
  • Restores factory fit and appearance when replacing a worn or damaged seal.
  • Easy to install with basic hand tools; resists shrinking and cracking over time.
Installation / Application:
  • Difficulty: 2/5
  • Estimated time: 30-60 minutes
Suggested Tools:
  • Flat plastic trim removal tool
  • Phillips screwdriver or socket set (if needed to remove trim)
  • Rubbing alcohol or automotive cleaner
  • Clean lint-free cloths
  • Silicone lubricant or weatherstrip dressing
  • Weatherstrip adhesive (if original installation used adhesive)
  • Utility knife or heavy-duty scissors (for trimming if necessary)
  • Rubber mallet or block of wood (optional, to seat seal)
Instructions:
  1. Park vehicle on level ground and open or remove interior trim pieces to access the rear window channel if required.
  2. Carefully remove the old weatherstrip by pulling it out of the channel; use a plastic trim tool to avoid scratching paint or glass.
  3. Thoroughly clean the channel and surrounding surfaces with rubbing alcohol or an appropriate cleaner to remove old adhesive, dirt, and residue. Allow to dry.
  4. Test-fit the new seal along the channel to confirm orientation and length. Trim any excess if necessary, making small cuts and rechecking fit.
  5. Apply a thin bead of weatherstrip adhesive into the channel only if the original installation used adhesive. Alternatively, apply a light coat of silicone lubricant to the new seal to ease installation.
  6. Starting at one corner, press the new weatherstrip into the channel, working around the perimeter. Use your fingers and a rubber mallet or block of wood to seat the seal fully without twisting or stretching.
  7. Reinstall any removed interior trim pieces, wipe away any excess adhesive, and allow adhesive (if used) to cure according to the product instructions.
  8. Check the seal by gently pressing around the glass and perform a water test (hose) to confirm no leaks and proper seating before driving.
