Replacement rear window weatherstrip for 1964-1966 Plymouth Barracuda 2-door hardtop coupe models. Designed to seal and cushion the rear glass, the profile includes a trim groove to accept a lockstrip for secure trim retention. Made from durable EPDM-type rubber with OEM-style fit, it restores a watertight seal, reduces wind noise and vibration, and resists UV, ozone and shrinkage for long-lasting reliability and easy restoration projects.
Features:
- Fitment: 1964-1966 Plymouth Barracuda 2-door Hardtop Coupe models (rear window).
- OEM-style EPDM-type rubber construction resists UV, ozone and shrinkage for durability.
- Includes trim groove to accept a lockstrip for secure trim retention and accurate fit.
- Seals rear glass to prevent leaks, reduce wind noise and protect interior trim.
- Straightforward replacement part ideal for restorations or maintenance of classic Barracudas.
Installation / Application:
- Difficulty: 3/5
- Estimated time: 1-2 hours
Instructions:
- Carefully remove the interior trim and any retaining moulding to expose the old weatherstrip and lockstrip.
- Remove the old weatherstrip and lockstrip; clean the pinch weld and glass flange with rubbing alcohol to remove old adhesive and debris.
- Test-fit the new weatherstrip on the flange to confirm orientation and fit; trim the seal to length if necessary.
- If using adhesive or butyl, apply a thin bead to the pinch weld per manufacturer instructions; a small amount helps hold the seal during installation.
- Seat the weatherstrip onto the flange, working around the opening and pressing the bulb and base fully into place. Use soapy water to lubricate if needed.
- Install the lockstrip into the trim groove, beginning at one end and tapping gently with a rubber mallet or lockstrip tool until it fully engages and secures the seal.
- Reinstall any exterior/interior mouldings and trim, check glass positioning and adjust if required, then allow any adhesive to cure per adhesive instructions.
- Inspect for gaps and water-tightness; road-test at low speed to listen for wind noise and re-check fit after initial driving.
