A direct-fit rear window weatherstrip engineered to restore a factory-quality seal for applications that use the Lockstrip WCR 1129 system. The profile features an integrated trim groove to accept the corresponding lockstrip, providing a secure mechanical hold while sealing out water, dust, and wind noise. Constructed from durable, ozone- and UV-resistant elastomer, this weatherstrip maintains flexibility in extreme temperatures for long-term reliability. Ideal for restoration or replacement, it helps prevent interior water damage, reduces vibration and wind noise, and re-establishes proper glass alignment for a neat, finished appearance.
Features:
- Designed for rear window applications that use the Lockstrip WCR 1129 profile.
- Integrated trim groove accepts the lockstrip for a secure, mechanical hold.
- Made from UV- and ozone-resistant elastomer for long life and flexibility.
- Seals against water, dust, and wind noise to protect interior components.
- Helps restore OEM fit and alignment for clean appearance and reduced vibration.
- Compression-resistant design resists hardening and shrinkage over time.
- Simple trim-and-seat installation—no complex fabrication required.
Installation / Application:
- Difficulty: 2/5
- Estimated time: 30-60 minutes
Instructions:
- Carefully remove the interior trim panels and any retaining hardware to access the rear window flange and old weatherstrip.
- Remove the old weatherstrip and lockstrip. Use a trim tool and screwdriver to pry out the seal and cut away any stuck sections with a utility knife.
- Thoroughly clean the window flange, channel, and glass edge with rubbing alcohol or an appropriate solvent to remove adhesive, dirt, and old sealant.
- Dry the area completely and inspect the channel for rust or damage; repair any rough spots before installing the new seal.
- Test-fit the new weatherstrip into the channel to confirm orientation. The trim groove should align where the lockstrip will seat.
- Apply a thin film of soapy water or window lubricant to the weatherstrip bead and channel to ease installation.
- Seat the weatherstrip into the channel starting at one corner; work progressively around the window, pressing the seal fully into the flange bead. Use a plastic trim tool to avoid damage.
- Insert the lockstrip into the trim groove to mechanically secure the seal. Tap gently with a rubber mallet or block of wood as needed until fully seated.
- Trim any excess material at the ends with a utility knife for a neat finish. If required, apply a small amount of adhesive or seam sealer at the butt joint for added protection against leaks.
- Reinstall interior trim panels and hardware. Clean the glass and test for proper fit by checking for even compression and running a water test to confirm no leaks.
