A self-locking rear window weatherstrip engineered for sedan applications that use chrome trim inserted into body clips. This weatherseal creates a secure, OEM-style barrier against water, wind and road noise while anchoring the chrome trim in place. Made from durable, UV- and ozone-resistant rubber, the seal provides long-lasting protection and is ideal for restoration or replacement projects where a reliable, easy-to-install closure is required.
Features:
  • Fits sedan models that use rear window chrome trim that inserts into body clips — verify fitment for your vehicle.
  • Self-locking design snaps into body clips for a secure, rattle-free fit.
  • Durable EPDM-style rubber resists UV, ozone and temperature extremes for long service life.
  • Designed to work with chrome trim that inserts into factory body clips; helps retain trim alignment.
  • Seals against water intrusion, wind noise and dust to protect interior trim and upholstery.
  • OEM-style replacement for restoration or repair projects; restores factory appearance and function.
  • Easy to handle and trim if minor length adjustments are required during installation.
Installation / Application:
  • Difficulty: 3/5
  • Estimated time: 30-60 minutes
Suggested Tools:
  • Flat trim removal tool or plastic pry tool
  • Phillips and flathead screwdrivers
  • Needle-nose pliers
  • Soft cloths and mild cleaner (isopropyl or soap & water)
  • Rubbing alcohol (for final cleaning)
  • Soapy water or rubber lubricant (for easier seat-in)
  • Utility knife or heavy-duty scissors
  • Gloves
Instructions:
  1. Park on a level surface, disconnect battery (if required for working near rear electrical components) and remove any interior trim panels that block access to the rear window channel.
  2. Carefully remove the chrome trim (if applicable) by lifting it out of the body clips; use a plastic pry tool to avoid scratching trim.
  3. Pull out the old weatherstrip: use needle-nose pliers and a trim tool to disengage it from the body clips and channel. Save any reusable clips or replace damaged clips.
  4. Clean the window channel and surrounding metal thoroughly with a mild cleaner followed by rubbing alcohol; remove old adhesive, dirt and corrosion to ensure a good seal.
  5. Dry the area and apply a light coat of soapy water or rubber lubricant to the new weatherstrip’s bulb and locking edge to ease installation.
  6. Test-fit the new weatherstrip along the channel to verify orientation and length; trim excess with a utility knife or scissors if necessary, cutting carefully and straight.
  7. Starting at one end, press the self-locking edge of the weatherstrip into the body clips/channel. Work along the perimeter, pushing firmly until each clip engages and the seal sits flush.
  8. Reinstall the chrome trim by aligning it with the weatherstrip and pressing it into the clips until secure. Reinstall any interior panels and inspect the seal for gaps or misalignment.
  9. Perform a water test or gentle hose spray around the sealed area and check inside for leaks. Re-adjust or reseat any sections as needed.
