A direct-fit self-locking windshield weatherstrip engineered for 2-door hardtop models that use chrome outer windshield trim and body-clip mounting. The WCR D671 B weatherseal provides a secure, watertight barrier between glass and body, locks into factory-style body clips, and accepts original chrome trim for a finished, factory appearance. Made from durable, weather-resistant rubber compound, it minimizes leaks, wind noise, and vibration while restoring the original fit and finish for classic and restored hardtop vehicles.
Features:
- Designed for 2-door hardtop windshields that use chrome outer trim and body-clip installation
- Self-locking profile that snaps into existing body clips for a secure fit
- Works with chrome windshield trim to reproduce factory appearance
- Durable, weather- and UV-resistant rubber compound for long service life
- Reduces water intrusion, wind noise, and vibration for improved cabin comfort
- Ideal replacement for restoration projects and maintenance of classic hardtops
Installation / Application:
- Difficulty: 2/5
- Estimated time: 45–90 minutes
Instructions:
- Park vehicle on a level surface and protect surrounding paint and interior with towels or masking.
- Carefully remove the chrome windshield outer trim: locate and remove any screws or pry gently with a plastic trim tool to disengage clips.
- Remove the old weatherstrip by pulling it out of the body clip slots; if clips remain, note their positions and remove only if necessary.
- Clean the windshield flange and body channel thoroughly with isopropyl alcohol to remove dirt, old adhesive, and grease; allow to dry.
- Dry-fit the new weatherstrip (WCR D671 B) around the windshield to confirm orientation and length; trim excess if required using a utility knife.
- Apply a light coat of soapy water or recommended rubber lubricant to the seal bead to ease insertion.
- Starting at the center top of the windshield, press the seal lip into the body clip slots and work outward and down toward the corners, using a rubber mallet or block of wood to firmly seat the seal where needed.
- Reinstall the chrome trim by aligning with the seal and pressing or fastening into place; replace any screws or clips removed earlier.
- Inspect the entire perimeter for even seating and gaps; adjust as needed. Test for leaks with a light spray of water after curing or settling period.
