This inner header weatherstrip seal is a direct-fit replacement designed for 1997–2006 Jeep Wrangler models. Instructions:
- Carefully remove the old weatherstrip: pry out the seal using a trim tool or flathead screwdriver, working slowly to avoid damaging the header or surrounding trim.
- Clean the mounting channel thoroughly with isopropyl alcohol and a lint-free cloth to remove dirt, grease and old adhesive residue. Allow to dry.
- Test-fit the new seal along the header to verify orientation and length. Trim any excess if necessary, cutting straight for a neat joint.
- If the original installation used adhesive or the channel is loose, apply a thin bead of weatherstrip adhesive into the channel according to adhesive manufacturer instructions.
- Starting at one end, press the new seal firmly into the channel, aligning the inner lip to the header edge. Work along the length, pressing the seal into place to ensure full engagement.
- Use a small roller, trim tool or rubber mallet (lightly) to seat the seal evenly and remove any gaps or high spots.
- Allow adhesive to cure if used (follow adhesive cure times), reinstall any removed trim pieces, then check the seal by inspecting for gaps and testing for water intrusion or wind noise on a short drive.
