MCK-3340-64 is a comprehensive molding clip kit designed to secure windshield and rear window moldings on 2- and 4-door sedan models. The kit supplies a variety of replacement clips and retainers engineered to fasten trim, align moldings, and prevent vibration or water intrusion. Built from corrosion-resistant materials for long life, these clips simplify restoration and routine maintenance by offering reliable, OEM-style fit and easy installation. Check the fitment guide for exact years, makes, and models compatibility before purchase.
Features:
- Fits many 2- and 4-door sedan models; verify exact years, makes, and models with the fitment guide.
- Assorted clip and retainer styles to cover common windshield and rear window molding attachment points.
- Corrosion-resistant metal and durable plastic components for long-lasting retention.
- Secures and aligns window moldings to reduce wind noise, prevent water leaks, and stop trim vibration.
- Straightforward replacement solution for restoration projects or worn/broken original clips.
- Pre-molded shapes and snap-in designs make installation fast and reduce risk of damaging trim.
Installation / Application:
- Difficulty: 2/5
- Estimated time: 30-60 minutes (per window, depending on access and corrosion)
Instructions:
- Park vehicle on a level surface, set parking brake and wear safety gear.
- Carefully remove the existing molding: use a plastic trim tool to pry along the edge and free old clips; use pliers or a screwdriver where clips are stuck—work slowly to avoid damaging glass or paint.
- Remove all old clips and any adhesive residue from the channel using rubbing alcohol and a clean towel; ensure the channel is dry and free of dirt and rust.
- Sort new clips by type and location using the included assortment to match the original clip positions.
- Test-fit each clip in the molding channel: align and gently press until the clip snaps into the channel. Replace any damaged or corroded pockets before final installation.
- Position the molding over the window edge, align to factory locations, and press firmly so each new clip engages and secures the trim. Work from one end to the other to maintain proper alignment.
- If fasteners or screws are required, reinstall them snugly but avoid over-tightening which can deform clips or trim.
- Inspect the seal and trim for gaps, and gently tap any difficult clips into place with a rubber mallet or wrapped tool. Re-check glass for proper seating and test drive to confirm elimination of wind noise or vibration.
- If adhesive/sealant was used during reassembly, follow manufacturer curing times before exposing to heavy weather or washing.
