Precision Fits 2-door hardtop Molding Clip Kit (Rear Window) PCK-4427-71 is a 22-piece replacement set designed to restore and secure the rear window molding on 2-door hardtop vehicles. These clips replace worn, broken, or missing fasteners to ensure proper alignment and a snug, rattle-free fit of the molding. Built for durability and corrosion resistance, the kit simplifies restoration and maintenance tasks and helps preserve original appearance and weather sealing.
Features:
- Fitment: Designed for 2-door hardtop models (rear window molding) — verify application for your vehicle.
- 22-piece kit contains all necessary rear window molding clips for a complete replacement or restoration.
- Durable construction with corrosion-resistant finish to withstand weather and repeated use.
- OEM-style design restores proper alignment and prevents molding vibration, leaks, and wind noise.
- Easy to install — clips press into place for a secure, reliable hold without complex modifications.
- Ideal for restoration projects or routine maintenance to replace brittle or missing fasteners.
Installation / Application:
- Difficulty: 2/5
- Estimated time: 30-60 minutes
Instructions:
- Park vehicle on a level surface and open trunk or access rear window area as needed to reach molding.
- Carefully remove the old molding: use a trim tool to pry the molding away from the body and remove old clips. Protect paint and glass during removal.
- Clean the clip channel and surrounding area with isopropyl alcohol and a clean rag to remove dirt, adhesive, and corrosion.
- Compare new clips to the old ones to confirm orientation and placement; lay out the 22 pieces in the order they will be installed.
- Install clips into the body channel or onto the molding (follow OEM orientation). Press each clip firmly until it seats and engages the mounting hole.
- Position the molding over the clips and press evenly along the length until each clip snaps into place and the molding seats flush.
- Check alignment and fitment; adjust clips or molding as needed. Reinstall any trim or hardware removed earlier.
- Inspect for secure hold and test for wind noise or movement by gently pressing along the molding. Replace any clip that did not engage properly.
