Instructions:
- Park on a level surface, disconnect the negative battery terminal if working near electrical components, and put on gloves.
- Carefully pry the rear window molding away from the body using a plastic trim removal tool or flathead screwdriver wrapped in tape to avoid scratching.
- Remove any remaining old clips by hand or with needle-nose pliers and set aside for comparison.
- Clean the clip channel and mating surfaces with a cloth and isopropyl alcohol; remove dirt, adhesive residue, and rust debris.
- Match new clips to the original fasteners to determine proper orientation and locations before installation.
- Press each new clip into the molding or body channel until it snaps into place — ensure the retaining tang fully seats.
- Align the molding with the window/body and press firmly along its length so each clip engages the mounting hole; use a rubber mallet gently if needed to seat stubborn areas.
- Inspect the installed molding for even fit and security; recheck all clips and trim any excess material or replace any clips that didn’t seat properly.
