Instructions:
- Carefully remove the molding or trim piece using a trim removal tool or flat-head screwdriver to expose the old clips.
- Remove old or damaged clips with pliers; apply penetrating oil if fasteners are corroded.
- Clean the clip channel and surrounding area of dirt and rust; wipe dry.
- Position the new metal stamped clip so the retention tangs face the trim and the locating tab aligns with the channel slot.
- Press or slide the clip into the channel until it seats fully; you should feel or hear a positive engagement.
- Align the molding over the installed clips and press firmly until the molding snaps into each clip.
- Check fitment and retention by gently pulling along the trim; re-seat any clips or adjust alignment as needed.
- Repeat for additional clips or panels and reinstall any fasteners that were removed.
