A precision metal-stamped molding clip designed to securely fasten exterior and interior trim, moldings, and panels. Built from stamped metal with a corrosion-resistant finish, this clip restores proper alignment, reduces rattle and vibration, and provides a long-lasting replacement for worn or damaged fasteners. Its compact design delivers reliable retention while remaining easy to install, making it ideal for trim restoration, maintenance, and general repair applications.
Features:
- Stamped metal construction for reliable strength and long life.
- Corrosion-resistant finish helps prevent rust and seizing.
- Secures exterior and interior molding, trim, and panel edges to reduce vibration and rattle.
- Push-in / snap-in design enables quick, tool-assisted installation.
- Ideal for restoration and replacement of worn or missing trim fasteners.
- Compact profile preserves original trim alignment and appearance.
Installation / Application:
- Difficulty: 2/5
- Estimated time: 5–15 minutes per clip; 30–60 minutes for a full molding strip (varies by vehicle)
Instructions:
- Remove the trim or molding section if necessary using a trim removal tool or flat screwdriver, taking care not to damage the trim.
- Remove the old clip(s). If clips are corroded, apply penetrating oil and let soak before prying or cutting them out.
- Clean the mounting holes and surrounding area of dirt, rust, and debris with a rag or wire brush so the new clip seats properly.
- Position the new clip on the molding or panel edge. Ensure clip orientation matches the mounting hole and retention feature.
- Align the clip with the vehicle mounting hole and press firmly until the clip snaps or seats fully into place. Use needle-nose pliers for tight fits if needed.
- Reinstall the trim or molding by sliding it over the clips and applying even pressure along the length to engage each clip.
- Check retention and alignment; replace any additional clips as needed to eliminate gaps or movement.
