The Precision Metal Stamped Molding Clip 1101 013 is a heavy-duty stamped-steel trim retainer engineered to securely fasten exterior and interior moldings, trim strips and panel edges. Built for reliable, long-term retention, the clip resists corrosion and deformation and reduces vibration and rattling where brittle plastic fasteners fail. Its compact, OE-style push-in design provides fast, repeatable installation — an ideal choice for restoration work, replacement of missing clips, and routine maintenance to keep trim aligned and secure.
Features:
- OE-style stamped-steel clip designed as a direct-fit replacement for many vehicle trim applications
- Durable stamped metal construction resists corrosion and deformation for long-term retention
- Securely fastens exterior and interior moldings, trim strips and edge panels to vehicle body
- Push-in design for quick installation and reliable holding power; reduces vibration and rattling
- Ideal for restoration projects or replacing brittle/plastic clips that have failed
- Compact profile preserves original trim fit and appearance
Installation / Application:
- Difficulty: 2/5
- Estimated time: 10-30 minutes (per panel, depending on number of clips)
Instructions:
- Identify and count the clips to be replaced; purchase enough clips for the entire molding run where possible.
- Use a trim removal tool or flathead screwdriver to gently pry the molding away from the body and expose the old clip.
- Remove the damaged or brittle clip using needle-nose pliers; apply penetrating oil if the clip is stuck.
- Clean the mounting hole or stud of dirt, rust and old adhesive to ensure the new clip seats fully.
- Align the molding with the body and position the new clip over the mounting hole or stud with correct orientation.
- Press the clip into the hole or push the molding assembly until the clip snaps into place and you feel positive engagement.
- Verify retention by gently tugging the molding; re-seat the clip or replace if it does not hold securely.
- Repeat for remaining clips and reinstall any trim pieces removed during the process.
