Precision Metal Stamped Molding Clip 1101 014 is a stamped-steel retention clip engineered to secure exterior and interior moldings, trim pieces, and body panels. Its metal construction provides superior holding strength and resistance to deformation compared with plastic fasteners, making it ideal for restoration, repair, or routine maintenance. The clip installs quickly and reliably into existing panel holes to restore factory fitment, reduce vibration, and prevent trim from loosening or rattling over time.
Features:
- Stamped metal construction provides higher strength than typical plastic clips.
- Designed to secure exterior and interior moldings, trim, and body panels.
- Corrosion-resistant finish for long-lasting durability in automotive environments.
- Push-in design for quick, tool-assisted installation and replacement.
- Ideal for restoration projects and routine trim repairs to restore factory fitment.
- Reduces vibration and prevents trim from rattling or separating from the panel.
Installation / Application:
- Difficulty: 1/5
- Estimated time: 5–15 minutes per clip
Instructions:
- Park vehicle on a level surface, engage parking brake, and wear gloves and eye protection.
- Carefully remove the molding or trim piece using a trim removal tool or flat blade to access the clip location.
- If replacing an old clip, grasp and pull the old clip out with needle-nose pliers or pry it out with a screwdriver.
- Clean the mounting hole and surrounding area with a rag and isopropyl alcohol to remove dirt and corrosion.
- Position the new stamped clip in the molding pocket or retainer area so the clip's prongs align with the panel hole.
- Press the molding and clip assembly into the panel hole until the clip seats and you hear or feel it snap into place. Use a rubber mallet or block of wood for gentle taps if needed.
- Verify the trim is flush and secure by applying light pressure along the molding; re-seat if any areas feel loose.
- Reinstall any removed components and perform a final inspection for proper fit and alignment.
