A precision-stamped metal molding clip designed to restore and secure exterior trim on sedan models that use part number 1101 006. This clip replaces worn or broken plastic fasteners, providing a firm, factory-style hold for door, rocker, and body side moldings. Made from durable stamped steel with a corrosion-resistant finish, it ensures long-term reliability, reduces trim vibration and rattles, and simplifies restoration or maintenance work with a clean, accurate fit.
Features:
- Fitment: Compatible with sedan models that use part number 1101 006 — confirm vehicle compatibility before purchase.
- Stamped steel construction for greater strength than common plastic clips.
- Corrosion-resistant finish helps prevent rust and extends service life.
- Secures exterior moldings and trim, reducing vibration and rattling.
- Push-in design for straightforward, reliable installation.
- Ideal for restoration projects or replacing broken/aged factory clips.
Installation / Application:
- Difficulty: 2/5
- Estimated time: 15–30 minutes (per side, depending on access and number of clips)
Instructions:
- Park vehicle on level ground and protect painted surfaces with tape or a cloth where you will work.
- Carefully pry the trim or molding away from the body using a trim tool or flat-blade screwdriver to expose the old clips.
- Remove the old or broken clip by prying it out or using needle-nose pliers; take care not to enlarge or damage the sheet-metal hole.
- Clean the hole and surrounding area of rust, dirt, or adhesive; apply a rust inhibitor if required and let dry.
- Orient the new clip so the locking tabs face the trim panel and the spike/shaft lines up with the body hole.
- Push the clip into the body hole until it seats fully and the retaining tabs engage (you should feel or hear a click).
- Align the molding over the newly installed clips and press the trim firmly into place until each clip engages and secures the molding.
- Check fitment and retention by gently tugging the molding; re-seat any clips or trim as needed.
- Repeat for each clip replaced and clean any fingerprints or residue from the vehicle surface.
