This molding clip kit is engineered for exact-fit replacement of the windshield and rear window moldings on 1968–1969 Plymouth Barracuda 2‑door coupe models. The clips secure and align exterior glass moldings, preventing vibration, wind noise, and water intrusion while protecting the glass edge and finish. Constructed for durability and corrosion resistance, the kit restores OEM-style fit and fast, reliable installation for restoration and maintenance projects.
Features:
- Fits 1968–1969 Plymouth Barracuda 2‑door coupe models (windshield and rear window).
- OEM-style fitment to restore original molding alignment and appearance.
- Durable construction with corrosion-resistant plating and tough polymer components for long life.
- Secures windshield and rear window moldings to reduce vibration, wind noise, and water leaks.
- Snap-in design for straightforward replacement and minimal adjustment.
- Ideal for restorations, maintenance, or replacing broken/missing clips to preserve vehicle value.
Installation / Application:
- Difficulty: 2/5
- Estimated time: 30-60 minutes
Instructions:
- Carefully remove the exterior molding by prying gently with a plastic trim tool to avoid damaging the molding or paint.
- Inspect the channel and remove any old clips, adhesive residue, and corrosion. Clean the mounting surface with isopropyl alcohol and a cloth; allow to dry.
- Compare new clips to the old ones and orient them so the retaining tangs align with the body flange and the mounting posts match the molding slots.
- If replacing clips while the molding is off the car, snap the new clips into the molding at the same spacing as the originals. If working with the molding in place, slide or insert clips into the channel where accessible.
- Position the molding against the glass/body flange and press firmly so each clip engages and snaps into the flange. Use steady, even pressure along the length to seat clips fully.
- Check alignment of the molding and glass; if necessary, adjust clip positions by prying the molding free at the affected area and reseating the clip.
- Once all clips are engaged and molding is aligned, inspect for gaps, and press each clip again to ensure a secure fit. Replace or tighten any adjacent trim fasteners if applicable.
- After installation, clean the molding and surrounding area. Test for wind noise or leaks by running water over the seals (if practical) and recheck clip engagement after a short drive.
