DL01136 is a 2-piece windshield and weatherstrip kit engineered to restore proper sealing and fit between the windshield and body. It replaces worn or damaged gaskets and moldings to prevent water intrusion, reduce wind noise, and protect interior trim. Constructed from durable, weather-resistant rubber compounds with an OEM-style profile, this kit is ideal for restoration and routine replacement projects where reliable sealing and long service life are required. Easy to position and designed for direct replacement, it helps ensure a clean, secure windshield installation.
Features:
- DL01136 2-piece windshield and weatherstrip kit (check vehicle-specific fitment before purchase).
- Durable, weather-resistant rubber compound engineered to resist UV, ozone and temperature extremes.
- Replaces worn or cracked gasket and molding to prevent leaks and water damage.
- Reduces wind noise and vibration for improved cabin comfort.
- OEM-style profile for an accurate, restoration-quality fit and appearance.
- Simple installation for do-it-yourself or professional replacement projects.
Installation / Application:
- Difficulty: 3/5
- Estimated time: 1–3 hours (plus adhesive cure time)
Instructions:
- Park vehicle on a level surface, disconnect battery if required, and protect interior/exterior trim with drop cloths.
- Carefully remove any remaining trim and the old weatherstrip/gasket. Use trim tools and a razor scraper; avoid damaging the pinch weld or glass.
- Clean the windshield flange and glass edge thoroughly with a solvent (isopropyl alcohol) to remove old adhesive, dirt, and grease. Allow to dry.
- Inspect the pinch weld and glass for rust or damage; repair bare metal and remove loose corrosion before proceeding.
- Test-fit the new weatherstrip and molding to ensure correct orientation and fit. Trim to length if necessary following kit guidance.
- Apply primer to metal and glass surfaces if required by the adhesive manufacturer; allow proper flash time.
- Load urethane adhesive into the applicator gun and apply a continuous, even bead to the pinch weld or gasket seating surface per adhesive instructions.
- Using suction cups or handling grips, carefully position the windshield and press it into the weatherstrip/gasket so the molding fully seats into the flange. Align evenly before final seating.
- Secure windshield in place with tape or supports as recommended, taking care not to disturb the bead. Remove excess adhesive with a rag and solvent before it cures.
- Allow the adhesive to cure per the urethane manufacturer's recommendations before driving (initial tack may be quick, but full cure can take 24 hours).
- Reinstall trim and inspect seals for gaps. Test for leaks after cure by gently spraying water around the perimeter.
- Dispose of old materials and used solvents in accordance with local regulations.
