[More Info]
The Precision 2006-2010 Jeep Commander Windshield Top Molding WFT D1627 is a direct-fit replacement designed to restore the clean, finished seal along the top edge of the windshield. This molding secures the glass edge, helps prevent water intrusion and wind noise, and improves the vehicle’s exterior appearance. Constructed from weather-resistant EPDM rubber with a corrosion-resistant reinforcement, it delivers long-lasting durability and reliable performance in harsh conditions. Easy to install, the molding is ideal for restoration, repair, or routine maintenance on affected Commanders.
Features:
  • Fits 2006-2010 Jeep Commander (top windshield molding)
  • Direct-fit replacement for WFT D1627; designed to match factory contours
  • Made from weather-resistant EPDM rubber with corrosion-resistant reinforcement
  • Seals windshield edge to prevent water intrusion and reduce wind noise
  • Restores original appearance and protects against trim deterioration
  • Simple press-in installation with minimal tools; great for restoration projects
Installation / Application:
  • Difficulty: 2/5
  • Estimated time: 20-30 minutes
Suggested Tools:
  • Plastic trim removal tool
  • Flat-head screwdriver (wrapped with tape to protect finish)
  • Clean lint-free rags
  • Isopropyl alcohol or adhesive cleaner
  • Utility knife (if trimming is required)
  • Weatherstrip adhesive (optional)
Instructions:
  1. Park vehicle on a level surface and set parking brake. Wear gloves and eye protection.
  2. Carefully remove the old top molding by prying gently with a plastic trim tool along the edge to release clips or adhesion. Use a flat-head screwdriver wrapped in tape for stubborn areas.
  3. Remove any remaining adhesive, dirt, or molding fragments from the windshield flange using a rag and isopropyl alcohol. Ensure the surface is clean and dry.
  4. Dry-fit the new molding (WFT D1627) along the top edge to confirm alignment and fitment.
  5. If recommended or desired, apply a thin bead of weatherstrip adhesive to the flange where the molding seats. Many installations are press-fit and do not require adhesive.
  6. Align the molding with the windshield edge and press it firmly into place, working from one end to the other to engage clips or the retaining channel. Ensure the molding sits flush and conforms to the windshield contour.
  7. Trim any excess material with a utility knife if necessary, then wipe the area clean and allow any adhesive to cure per manufacturer instructions.
  8. Inspect for even seating and test for leaks by gently running water over the area or checking for gaps. Reinstall any removed trim pieces and clean the surrounding surfaces.
