[More Info]
The Precision Windshield Molding WFS 963 is an OE-style windshield trim designed to secure and seal the windshield opening, preventing water intrusion, wind noise, and vibration. Constructed from durable weather-resistant materials with a corrosion-resistant channel, this replacement molding restores factory fit and finish for a clean, long-lasting seal. Ideal for restoration or routine replacement, it provides reliable protection and simple installation when following proper preparation steps.
Features:
  • OE-style windshield molding that restores factory fit and finish.
  • Made from weather-resistant rubber with a corrosion-resistant metal channel for long service life.
  • Seals the windshield opening to prevent leaks, reduce wind noise, and minimize vibration.
  • Designed for direct replacement and restoration applications.
  • Easy to install with basic trim tools and commonly available adhesives.
  • Resistant to UV, ozone, and temperature cycling to maintain flexibility and sealing performance.
Installation / Application:
  • Difficulty: 3/5
  • Estimated time: 1–2 hours
Suggested Tools:
  • Plastic trim removal tools
  • Flat-blade screwdriver
  • Needle-nose pliers
  • Weatherstrip adhesive (if required)
  • Isopropyl alcohol or solvent cleaner
  • Lint-free cloths
  • Masking tape
  • Spray bottle with soapy water or rubber lubricant
  • Rubber mallet (optional)
  • Gloves and safety glasses
Instructions:
  1. Park the vehicle on a level surface and wear gloves and safety glasses.
  2. Carefully remove the old molding: use plastic trim tools and a flat screwdriver to pry up the edge, and pliers to pull out the molding without damaging the pinch weld.
  3. Inspect and clean the pinch weld/channel where the windshield sits. Remove old adhesive, dirt, and corrosion with a solvent cleaner and a lint-free cloth.
  4. Dry the channel completely and treat any rust or damage before installing the new molding.
  5. Test-fit the new molding along the windshield perimeter to confirm orientation and fit before applying any adhesive.
  6. If weatherstrip adhesive is recommended for your vehicle, apply a thin bead to the channel per the adhesive manufacturer’s instructions. For slip-on installations, lubricate the channel with soapy water or rubber lubricant to ease installation.
  7. Starting at one corner, press the new molding into the channel, working around the windshield. Use a firm hand and a rubber mallet or block to seat the molding evenly; avoid stretching the molding.
  8. Use masking tape to hold the molding in place if adhesive was used. Wipe away any excess adhesive immediately with solvent cleaner.
  9. Allow adhesive to cure per the adhesive manufacturer's instructions before driving. Remove masking tape after cure begins, and recheck the molding for proper seating and uniform compression.
  10. Perform a water test (gentle hose spray) to confirm there are no leaks and that the molding is fully seated.
