Instructions:
- Park vehicle on level ground and protect painted surfaces with masking tape or drop cloths.
- Carefully pry off the old molding with a plastic trim tool or wrapped screwdriver, working around the windshield to avoid damaging the glass or paint.
- Remove any old adhesive, sealant, and debris from the channel using a cleaner and lint-free cloth until the surface is dry and clean.
- Test-fit the new WFS D1226 molding around the windshield to confirm orientation and fit before final installation.
- If required, apply a thin bead of recommended sealant or adhesive to the windshield channel per the vehicle manufacturer’s guidelines.
- Starting at one corner, press the molding firmly into the channel, working around the perimeter and ensuring the molding seats evenly against the glass and body.
- Use a rubber mallet or block of wood to gently tap the molding into place where clips or a metal core need to engage; avoid striking glass directly.
- Inspect the fit for gaps or uneven sections; adjust as needed. Wipe away any excess sealant immediately.
- Allow any adhesive or sealant to cure per manufacturer recommendations before driving (refer to product-specific cure time).
- If windshield removal is required for your vehicle, have the work performed by a qualified technician to ensure proper safety and sealing.
