A direct-fit rear window weatherstrip for 1987-1996 Dodge Dakota trucks, part WBL 7158 (without trim groove). This seal replaces worn, cracked, or hardened weatherstripping to restore a watertight, windproof seal around the rear glass. Made from resilient, automotive-grade EPDM rubber, it protects the cabin from leaks, reduces road noise, and prevents interior damage from moisture. Engineered for OEM-style fit and long-lasting performance, it’s durable, weather-resistant, and straightforward to install for restoration or maintenance projects.
Features:
  • Fits 1987-1996 Dodge Dakota rear window (without trim groove) — part WBL 7158.
  • Made from durable EPDM rubber for superior resistance to UV, ozone, and temperature extremes.
  • Restores a watertight, windproof seal to prevent leaks, drafts, and interior water damage.
  • OEM-style profile for accurate fitment and reliable sealing performance.
  • Simple replacement to refresh aging seals during restoration or routine maintenance.
Installation / Application:
  • Difficulty: 2/5
  • Estimated time: 30-60 minutes
Suggested Tools:
  • Trim removal tool or plastic pry tool
  • Flat-head screwdriver (wrapped in tape to protect paint)
  • Clean rags
  • Rubbing alcohol or mild cleaner
  • Weatherstrip adhesive (recommended)
  • Small brush or applicator for adhesive
  • Soapy water spray (optional, for easier seating)
  • Gloves
Instructions:
  1. Park vehicle on a flat surface and work in a well-lit, dry area. Protect surrounding paint with tape or rags.
  2. Carefully remove the interior trim panels around the rear window to access the old weatherstrip, using a trim tool to avoid damage.
  3. Gently pry out the old weatherstrip and remove any old adhesive, dirt, or rubber fragments from the channel.
  4. Clean the channel thoroughly with rubbing alcohol or a mild cleaner and allow it to dry completely.
  5. Dry-fit the new weatherstrip (WBL 7158) around the window to confirm orientation and fit. Trim ends if necessary following OEM overlap recommendations.
  6. If using adhesive, apply a thin, even bead in the channel or on the seal as recommended by the adhesive manufacturer. For some installs, soapy water can be used to help seat the seal without adhesive.
  7. Starting at the top center, press the new seal into the channel and work outward and downward, seating it firmly and evenly along the entire perimeter. Pay special attention to corners and end joints to ensure a continuous seal.
  8. Reinstall interior trim panels and allow any adhesive to cure per product instructions before exposing to moisture or driving at high speeds.
