Instructions:
- Park vehicle on level ground and disconnect battery if working near electrical components.
- Carefully remove the interior trim panels around the rear window using a plastic trim removal tool to expose the molding and clips.
- If the molding must be removed, gently pry the old clips out with a flat-blade screwdriver or pliers, taking care not to damage the molding or pinch weld.
- Clean the clip channel and pinch-weld area with a clean cloth to remove dirt, old adhesive, or corrosion.
- Test-fit new clips along the molding to determine correct spacing and orientation before final installation.
- Press each new clip into the molding or into the vehicle channel (depending on application) until it snaps into place; ensure clips are fully seated.
- Reposition the molding and firmly press it into the pinch-weld so each clip engages the body flange.
- Reinstall interior trim panels, verify even gaps and secure fit of the molding, and check for any movement or gaps that could allow water intrusion.
- If needed, apply a small amount of lubricant to ease final placement, and perform a water check after installation to confirm a watertight seal.
