Instructions:
- Park vehicle on level ground, set parking brake, and protect painted surfaces with masking tape along the molding line.
- Carefully pry up the windshield molding using a plastic trim tool to avoid damaging the paint or glass; work slowly along the length to free it from the channel.
- Remove any old, broken clips from the channel using needle-nose pliers or a clip removal tool. Keep track of clip types as you remove them for proper replacement.
- Clean the molding channel and mating surfaces with a rag and mild solvent to remove dirt, adhesive residue, and corrosion.
- Sort replacement clips by type and test-fit one clip in the channel to verify orientation and engagement depth.
- Begin installing clips at one end of the windshield: press each clip into the channel at the original clip locations, spacing them evenly according to the removed pattern.
- Re-seat the molding over the newly installed clips, pressing firmly along the entire length until each clip snaps into place and the molding sits flush.
- Inspect the installation for gaps, uneven sections, or misaligned clips. Re-adjust or re-seat any problem areas as needed.
- Clean up any fingerprints or residue and allow any disturbed sealant to set per manufacturer guidelines before driving.
