The Precision Rain Sensor Pad Kit RSK-1427 is a replacement isolation pad designed for vehicles equipped with windshield-mounted rain sensors. It secures the sensor against the glass, reduces vibration and noise, and provides an even mounting surface to restore proper sensor alignment and function. Made from durable, weather-resistant materials, the pad helps maintain reliable sensor performance over time and simplifies sensor reinstallation during repair or windshield replacement.
Features:
- Designed for vehicles equipped with windshield-mounted rain sensors (universal fit where sensor housing and windshield configuration match).
- Durable, weather-resistant foam and adhesive materials resist temperature extremes and moisture.
- Secures and isolates the rain sensor to reduce vibration and false triggers.
- Restores proper sensor alignment and mounting after windshield replacement or repair.
- Easy to install with common hand tools and standard cleaning supplies.
Installation / Application:
- Difficulty: 2/5
- Estimated time: 20-40 minutes
Instructions:
- Park vehicle on a level surface, disconnect the battery if directed by vehicle manufacturer, and remove the rain sensor assembly per vehicle service manual.
- Use a plastic trim tool and small screwdriver to remove any remaining old pad material from the sensor housing and windshield mounting area.
- Clean the windshield contact area thoroughly with isopropyl alcohol and a lint-free cloth; allow to dry completely.
- If included or recommended, apply adhesive promoter to the cleaned area and let it flash per product instructions.
- Remove backing from the new pad to expose adhesive, align the pad to the sensor mounting location, and press firmly onto the windshield.
- Reinstall the rain sensor onto the newly installed pad, ensuring correct orientation and full contact without gaps.
- Reconnect battery (if disconnected) and test sensor operation following the vehicle manufacturer’s diagnostic or calibration procedures.
