Instructions:
- Park on level ground, chock rear wheels, loosen front lug nuts, then safely lift and support the vehicle on jack stands and remove the front wheel.
- Apply penetrating oil to the control arm fasteners and ball joint nut; remove the nut securing the ball joint to the steering knuckle but leave it threaded a few turns.
- Use a ball joint separator or pickle fork to separate the ball joint stud from the knuckle; tap gently with a hammer if needed and fully remove the nut.
- Support the lower control arm or hub assembly as needed, then remove the bolts securing the upper control arm to the vehicle frame or strut tower.
- Remove the old control arm assembly and compare with the new part to confirm orientation and fitment.
- Install the new control arm, loosely threading the mounting bolts first to allow alignment, then seat the ball joint into the knuckle and torque the ball joint nut to manufacturer specification.
- Torque the upper control arm mounting bolts to the specified values with the suspension at ride height if required by vehicle manufacturer; re-install the wheel and lower the vehicle.
- Perform a wheel alignment after installation to ensure correct toe, camber, and caster and to prevent premature tire wear.
