Adjustable front upper ball joint for 2003–2020 Dodge / Ram trucks and SUVs. This precision-engineered replacement ball joint provides secure attachment of the upper control arm while allowing up to 1° of camber or caster adjustment for fine alignment tuning. Constructed from durable, corrosion-resistant materials with a sealed bearing and greaseable design, it restores proper suspension geometry, reduces uneven tire wear, and improves steering stability. Ideal for restoration or performance alignment corrections, this part fits both right-hand and left-hand positions and is designed for long-term reliability and straightforward installation.
Features:
- Fits 2003–2020 Dodge / Ram front upper, right or left hand (verify application by model/year).
- Adjustable design allows up to 1° of camber or caster correction for alignment tuning.
- Durable, corrosion-resistant housing with sealed bearing for long service life.
- Greaseable joint reduces wear and helps maintain smooth suspension movement.
- Direct-replacement part for restoration or repair—restores proper geometry and reduces tire wear.
- Easy-to-install design replaces OE ball joint mounting with common hand tools.
Installation / Application:
- Difficulty: 3/5
- Estimated time: 1–2 hours (per side)
Instructions:
- Park vehicle on a level surface, engage parking brake and chock rear wheels.
- Loosen front wheel lug nuts slightly, raise the front end with a floor jack and support on jack stands. Remove the wheel.
- Apply penetrating oil to fasteners at the upper control arm and ball joint. Remove any cotter pins and loosen the castle nut or retaining nut on the ball joint stud.
- Separate the ball joint stud from the steering knuckle using a ball joint separator or pickle fork. Be careful to protect rubber boots and surrounding components.
- Support the lower control arm and remove mounting bolts or rivets that secure the upper ball joint to the control arm (follow vehicle-specific procedures if rivets are present).
- Remove the old upper ball joint from the control arm and clean the mounting area of rust and debris.
- Install the replacement adjustable ball joint into the control arm, aligning mounting holes. Secure with the provided or OE fasteners and torque to the vehicle manufacturer’s specifications.
- Reconnect the ball joint stud to the steering knuckle, install the castle nut or retaining nut, and torque to spec. Install a new cotter pin if required.
- If the joint is greaseable, apply chassis grease via the zerk fitting until slight resistance is felt; wipe away excess.
- Reinstall the wheel, lower the vehicle, and torque the lug nuts to specification.
- Because this part allows camber/caster adjustment, take the vehicle to a qualified alignment shop and have front alignment checked and adjusted as needed.
