Front upper ball joint designed for 2003–2020 Dodge and Ram trucks, available for right or left hand positions (without knurling). This replacement ball joint secures the upper control arm to the steering knuckle, maintaining proper suspension geometry and allowing smooth pivoting for steering and wheel movement.   • Punch or drift (if press-fit removal required)
Instructions:
  1. Park vehicle on level surface, engage parking brake, and block rear wheels.
  2. Loosen front wheel lug nuts slightly, then raise the vehicle with a jack and support on jack stands. Remove the wheel.
  3. Apply penetrating oil to the upper ball joint fastener and allow to soak if corroded.
  4. Remove any components blocking access to the upper ball joint (brake caliper/rotor removal may be required on some models).
  5. Separate the upper control arm from the steering knuckle using a ball joint separator or pickle fork. Support the control arm to avoid stressing other components.
  6. Remove the retaining nut and any cotter pin or washer securing the ball joint stud.
  7. If the ball joint is bolt-in, remove mounting bolts and lift out the old ball joint. If press-fit, use a ball joint press or appropriate driver to press the joint out of the control arm.
  8. Clean the control arm mounting surface and inspect for damage or wear. Replace control arm if necessary.
  9. Position the new ball joint into the control arm and secure per factory method (press-in or bolt-in). Tighten mounting bolts/nut to the manufacturer's torque specification.
  10. Reattach the upper control arm to the steering knuckle, install new cotter pin if applicable, and torque the castle nut to spec.
  11. Reinstall any removed components (rotor, caliper) and the wheel. Torque wheel lug nuts to specification.
  12. Lower the vehicle, perform a final torque check on all fasteners, and have a professional wheel alignment performed after installation.
