Front outer tie rod end (right/left hand) for 2007–2013 Dodge and Mercedes‑Benz applications, designed to replace worn steering linkage and restore precise front-end steering. This direct-fit outer tie rod features a 14mm stud and castle nut for secure attachment, delivering reliable steering response, reduced play, and improved vehicle safety. Built from durable materials with corrosion-resistant finish and a robust ball joint, it restores factory steering geometry and is ideal for routine maintenance, collision repair, or full suspension restoration.
Features:
  • Fits 2007–2013 Dodge and Mercedes‑Benz models — front outer tie rod end, left or right hand.
  • Direct-fit replacement with 14mm stud and castle nut for secure, OEM-style attachment.
  • High-strength steel construction with corrosion-resistant coating for long life.
  • Precision ball joint reduces steering play and vibration for improved handling.
  • Pre-greased joint (or serviceable grease fitting where applicable) for smoother operation.
  • Simple bolt-on design makes replacement straightforward during suspension or steering maintenance.
  • Restoration-ready: restores factory steering geometry and improves vehicle safety.
Installation / Application:
  • Difficulty: 2/5
  • Estimated time: 30-60 minutes per side
Suggested Tools:
  • Jack and jack stands
  • Wheel chocks
  • Lug wrench
  • Metric wrench set (including 14mm and castle nut size)
  • Torque wrench
  • Tie rod end puller or pickle fork
  • Pliers (for cotter pin)
  • Marker or paint pen
  • Rag and penetrating oil
Instructions:
  1. Park on level ground, engage parking brake, and chock rear wheels. Loosen front wheel lug nuts.
  2. Raise vehicle and support with jack stands. Remove the front wheel to access the tie rod end.
  3. Locate the outer tie rod end and remove the cotter pin from the castle nut using pliers.
  4. Loosen and remove the castle nut securing the tie rod end stud to the steering knuckle. Use a tie rod puller or pickle fork to separate the tie rod end from the knuckle.
  5. Mark the position of the outer tie rod on the threaded inner tie rod (or count the number of turns) to preserve alignment, then loosen the jam/lock nut and unscrew the outer tie rod end.
  6. Install the new outer tie rod end by threading it onto the inner tie rod to the previously marked position or the same number of turns. Tighten the jam/lock nut against the inner tie rod.
  7. Insert the tie rod stud into the steering knuckle, install the castle nut and torque to the vehicle manufacturer’s specification. Install a new cotter pin through the castle nut and stud, bending the ends to secure it.
  8. Reinstall the wheel, lower the vehicle, and torque the lug nuts to specification.
  9. Check steering free-play and perform a test drive. Have a professional wheel alignment performed after installation to ensure proper toe settings and optimal tire wear.
