Installation / Application:
- Difficulty: 2/5
- Estimated time: 30-60 minutes
Instructions:
- Prepare the vehicle: park on a level surface, lower the window fully (if power windows, disconnect the battery first to prevent accidental operation).
- Remove the interior door panel: pry off trim clips and remove screws to access the door interior and window channel area.
- Lower or support the glass: if needed, lower the glass to expose the channel mounting points or support the glass with tape to prevent movement.
- Remove the old channel: detach any fasteners or clips holding the old glass run channel, gently pull the old channel out of the window frame and remove any remaining adhesive or debris.
- Clean the channel area: wipe the window frame channel clean and remove rust, dirt or sealant to ensure a proper fit for the new part.
- Test-fit the new channel pieces: position the two pieces into the frame to confirm alignment before final install.
- Install the new channel: slide or press the new channel pieces into place, ensuring they seat fully along the frame and align with any mounting points; apply silicone spray to the channel lips if needed to ease glass movement.
- Reinstall glass and hardware: carefully lower the glass into the new channel, reattach any clips or regulator components, and confirm smooth up/down operation.
- Reassemble the door: reinstall the door panel and trim pieces, reconnect the battery (if disconnected), and test the window several times to verify proper sealing and smooth operation.
- Final check: inspect for leaks and wind noise; adjust seating or retorque fasteners if necessary.
