The Glass Run Channel 2-piece kit (GRK 3110 72) is a left-or-right hand replacement that restores proper window alignment and sealing. It guides the door glass smoothly in the window opening, minimizes wind noise and rattles, and helps prevent water intrusion and glass wear. Constructed from durable, weather-resistant rubber with a formed profile that retains the glass, this kit is ideal for restoring worn or damaged channels and improving long-term reliability and quiet operation.
Features:
- Left or right hand 2-piece kit (GRK 3110 72) for single-window replacement
- Durable, weather-resistant rubber compound for long service life
- Profiles and retains the window glass to reduce vibration and wind noise
- Helps prevent water intrusion and protects glass edges from wear
- Direct replacement designed for restoration and maintenance projects
- Simple installation with basic hand tools; no special equipment required
Installation / Application:
- Difficulty: 3/5
- Estimated time: 45–90 minutes per door
Instructions:
- Lower the window (if operable) to a position that allows access to the run channel; if the regulator is inoperable, remove the door panel to access the glass support.
- Remove the door panel and any inner vapor barrier or trim necessary to reach the channel retaining areas.
- Carefully detach any clips or fasteners and loosen the window glass from the regulator enough to move or lift the glass for channel removal.
- Remove the old run channel: cut or pull out the rubber section and remove any retained metal or adhesive. Clean the channel track and surrounding area of dirt, old adhesive, and corrosion.
- Test-fit the new channel pieces in the door to confirm left/right orientation and fit. Trim excess material only if instructed by fitment notes.
- Apply a thin bead of weatherstrip adhesive where specified by the vehicle or lightly coat the channel with recommended silicone lubricant to ease installation.
- Seat the new channel into the window frame starting at one end and working along the length; use gentle pressure or a rubber mallet wrapped in cloth to fully engage the channel without deforming it.
- Reposition the glass into the new channel and confirm smooth up/down travel. Adjust regulator or glass mounts if the window binds or misaligns.
- Allow any adhesive to cure per manufacturer instructions, reattach the vapor barrier and door panel, then test window operation and seal against wind and water.
