A left- or right-hand glass run channel engineered to guide and seal vehicle side glass for smooth operation and long-lasting performance. This 72-inch channel replaces worn or damaged channels to restore proper window alignment, reduce wind noise and water intrusion, and protect the glass edge from wear. Constructed from a durable rubber compound with a reinforced inner core, it delivers reliable sealing and vibration dampening while remaining simple to fit as an OE-style replacement. Ideal for restoration or routine maintenance to return doors to quiet, trouble-free operation.
Features:
- Fits left or right hand applications; 72 inches long for a wide range of window openings.
- Durable rubber compound with reinforced inner core for long service life and consistent sealing.
- Guides and cushions the window to reduce rattles, wear, and wind noise.
- Helps prevent water intrusion and protects the glass edge from chipping.
- OE-style replacement that restores proper window alignment and smooth travel.
- Straightforward installation for technicians and experienced DIYers.
Installation / Application:
- Difficulty: 3/5
- Estimated time: 45-90 minutes
Instructions:
- Prepare: Park on level ground, disconnect the negative battery terminal if the door has powered windows, and lower the window partially so you can access the channel. Put on gloves and safety glasses.
- Remove interior trim: Use the trim tool to remove the door panel and any trim pieces blocking access to the glass run channel. Note fastener locations for reassembly.
- Detach glass as needed: If necessary, support the glass with masking tape or the window regulator so it won’t drop when the channel is removed.
- Remove old channel: Carefully pry out the existing rubber channel from the door frame. Cut away any bonded sections with a utility knife and remove old adhesive or debris from the mounting surface.
- Clean mounting surface: Wipe the channel mounting area with rubbing alcohol or a cleaner to remove dirt, grease, and old adhesive. Allow to dry.
- Test-fit new channel: Position the 72-inch replacement channel along the door frame to confirm orientation (left/right) and length. Trim excess only if specified by vehicle instructions.
- Install new channel: Starting at the top corner, press the new channel into the door frame groove. Work along the length, seating the channel evenly. Apply light pressure and ensure the inner lip is properly positioned to guide the glass.
- Bonding (optional): If the original used adhesive, apply a small bead of weatherstrip adhesive in short sections as you seat the channel, allowing recommended tack time between sections.
- Re-seat the glass: Carefully lower or raise the window into the new channel and cycle the window slowly to ensure smooth travel and correct alignment. Make small adjustments as needed.
- Reassemble door: Reinstall the door panel and trim pieces. Reconnect the battery (if disconnected) and perform several full window cycles to confirm quiet operation and a watertight seal.
