Precision Door Weatherstrip Seal (Left or Right Hand, DWB 3110 78) is a direct-fit replacement door gasket designed for 1978 model-year door openings. It creates a reliable barrier against water, wind, dust and road noise while protecting door edges and interior trim from corrosion and wear. Molded from durable EPDM rubber, the seal resists ozone, UV and temperature extremes for long service life. Supplied for either left or right hand doors, this OEM-style weatherstrip restores proper door sealing and helps maintain factory fit and function with straightforward installation.
Features:
- Fits 1978 model-year doors — verify part DWB 3110 for exact make/model fitment
- Available for left or right hand door installation
- Molded EPDM rubber construction for long-lasting flexibility and weather resistance
- Seals out water, dust and wind noise to protect interior and prevent corrosion
- Resists UV, ozone and temperature extremes for reliable durability
- OEM-style profile for proper door alignment and factory fit
- Simple replacement useful for restoration or routine maintenance
Installation / Application:
- Difficulty: 2/5
- Estimated time: 30-60 minutes per door
Instructions:
- Open the door and carefully remove the existing weatherstrip by prying out retainers or peeling away adhesive; save any reusable trim clips if intact.
- Thoroughly clean the mounting channel and surrounding surfaces with rubbing alcohol or cleaner to remove old adhesive, dirt and oil. Allow to dry.
- Test-fit the new DWB 3110 seal along the door frame to confirm orientation (left or right) and length; trim excess with a utility knife if necessary.
- If the seal is an interference fit, press it into the channel starting at one end and working around the perimeter, ensuring the bulb and flange seat fully.
- If adhesive is required, apply a thin, even bead of weatherstrip adhesive to the channel or back of the seal per adhesive instructions, then press the seal into place.
- Use masking tape to hold the seal in position while adhesive sets (if used). Check door close and alignment as you work to ensure a uniform seal.
- Allow adhesive to cure per manufacturer recommendations, remove tape, and test for leaks and proper door operation. Make small adjustments where needed.
