Direct-fit quarter window molding engineered for 1987-1995 Jeep Wrangler (YJ) to restore the original seal and appearance around the rear side glass. This molding secures the quarter window, helps prevent water intrusion and wind noise, and protects the sheetmetal edge from wear and corrosion. Made from weather-resistant materials for long service life, it provides an OEM-style fit for restoration or routine maintenance projects and installs with common hand tools for a reliable, durable finish.
Features:
- Fits 1987-1995 Jeep Wrangler (YJ) quarter window area
- Manufactured from weather- and UV-resistant rubber compound for long-lasting sealing performance
- Secures quarter glass, reduces vibration and wind noise, and prevents water intrusion
- OEM-style fit and profile restores factory appearance and function
- Easy installation with basic tools — ideal for restoration or replacement applications
Installation / Application:
- Difficulty: 2/5
- Estimated time: 30-60 minutes
Instructions:
- Park vehicle on a level surface, engage parking brake, and remove any interior trim panels or hardware that obstruct access to the quarter window molding.
- Carefully remove the old molding by prying trim clips and pulling the molding out of the channel. Use a trim tool to avoid scratching paint. Remove any retained clips if damaged.
- Clean the channel and surrounding area thoroughly with isopropyl alcohol or a mild cleaner to remove dirt, old adhesive, and contaminants. Allow to dry.
- Inspect the channel and clip locations for rust or damage. Repair or treat any corrosion before installing the new molding.
- If recommended, lightly lubricate the molding channel with soapy water or a silicone-safe rubber lubricant to ease installation.
- Begin installing the new molding at one end of the channel, aligning it with any factory reference points or clips. Press the molding into the channel, working toward the opposite end and seating clips or retaining features as you go.
- Use a soft mallet or firm hand pressure to ensure the molding is fully seated and the profile matches the surrounding trim. Replace any broken clips with new ones for a secure fit.
- Reinstall any interior trim or hardware removed earlier. Test the installation by closing the door and checking for gaps, then perform a light water test (hose) to confirm sealing performance.
- If adjustments are needed, loosen hardware or reposition the molding slightly, then retest until the seal is satisfactory.
