Precision Metal Stamped Molding Clip 1101 015 is a heavy-duty stamped-steel trim fastener designed to secure interior and exterior moldings, emblems, and body trim. Engineered for precise fit and reliable retention, this clip restores OEM fitment, prevents rattles and trim sag, and resists deformation under repeated service. Its compact profile and corrosion-resistant finish make it suitable for restoration, repair, and maintenance of classic and modern vehicles where original-style metal clips are specified.
Features:
  • Stamped steel construction for strength and repeatable retention
  • Secures door, body, and trim molding to eliminate rattles and sag
  • Corrosion-resistant finish for long service life in exterior applications
  • OEM-style form for accurate fit and simple replacement of worn clips
  • Easy push-in installation — no special hardware required
  • Ideal for restoration projects and routine trim repairs
Installation / Application:
  • Difficulty: 2/5
  • Estimated time: 5–30 minutes (per clip, depending on access and number of clips)
Suggested Tools:
  • Trim removal tool / panel popper
  • Flat blade screwdriver
  • Needle-nose pliers
  • Socket or nut driver (if needed to remove adjacent fasteners)
  • Work gloves
  • Lubricant or rust inhibitor (optional)
Instructions:
  1. Assess the damaged or loose molding and identify the clip locations to be replaced.
  2. Carefully remove the molding: use a trim removal tool or flat screwdriver to pry the molding away from the body a few inches to expose the clip area. Work slowly to avoid bending the molding.
  3. Remove the old clip: if the broken clip remains in the body hole, use needle-nose pliers to pull it out. For clips retained on the molding channel, slide them off or unhook as needed.
  4. Prepare the mounting hole and molding channel: clean debris and rust from the hole and mating surfaces. Apply a light rust inhibitor or lubricant if desired.
  5. Position the new clip on the molding: align the clip's retention tangs with the molding channel so the clip seats flush against the molding flange.
  6. Install the clip into the body hole: push the clip assembly into the sheet-metal hole until it snaps or seats firmly. You should feel/hear the retention tangs engage.
  7. Re-seat the molding: align the molding over the installed clips and press along the length so each clip engages the molding channel. Ensure each clip fully engages and the molding sits flush.
  8. Inspect the fit: confirm the molding is secure and there is no excessive play. Repeat for additional clips as needed.
