This 36-piece rear window molding clip kit is designed to restore and secure the rear window trim on 1968–1969 Plymouth Barracuda 2-door coupes (notchback). Engineered as a direct replacement for worn or missing factory clips, the kit ensures correct alignment of the molding, reduces wind noise and leaks, and helps preserve the original appearance of the vehicle. Corrosion-resistant finish and precision forming provide long-lasting durability and reliable retention for restoration or routine maintenance projects.
Features:
- Fits 1968–1969 Plymouth Barracuda 2‑Door Coupe (notchback) — rear window molding.
- Complete 36-piece set (PCK-4076-68) to replace all rear window molding clips.
- Durable, corrosion-resistant plated steel construction for long service life.
- OEM-style fit and form for proper alignment and secure retention of molding.
- Prevents rattles, reduces wind noise, and helps maintain a watertight seal.
- Ideal for restorations, repairs, or refreshing worn trim hardware; easy swap-in replacement.
Installation / Application:
- Difficulty: 2/5
- Estimated time: 30-60 minutes
Instructions:
- Park vehicle on a level surface, wear safety glasses and gloves, and protect painted surfaces with tape or rags.
- Carefully remove the rear window molding or trim: use a trim tool and screwdrivers to release any fasteners and gently pry the molding free to expose the old clips.
- Remove old, damaged, or corroded clips with needle-nose pliers; clean the clip mounting channel and mating surfaces with a rag and mild cleaner.
- Test-fit a replacement clip in the channel to confirm orientation and spacing. Note clip direction (teeth or tangs typically face the molding flange).
- If needed, apply a light lubricant (soapy water or silicone spray) to the molding edge for easier insertion.
- Position and snap each new clip into the channel or onto the molding flange at the factory mounting locations. Start at the center and work outward to maintain correct alignment.
- Reinstall the molding by aligning it with the clips and pressing firmly until each clip engages. Use even pressure to avoid bending the molding.
- Inspect the assembly for proper seating, alignment, and gaps. Replace any clips that did not fully engage and re-seal or reinstall adjacent trim pieces as required.
- Allow any lubricant to dry and clean the area. Perform a final check for rattles and water intrusion after a short test drive or a simulated water test.
