Instructions:
- Park vehicle on a level surface, wear safety glasses and gloves, and protect surrounding trim with towels.
- Carefully remove the rear window molding or trim that requires replacement following the vehicle’s service manual or by gently prying with a trim tool to avoid damaging the molding.
- Inspect the window channel and molding for old clip remnants; apply penetrating oil if clips are stuck and remove any debris or rust with a wire brush and clean with rubbing alcohol.
- Compare the new clips to the old ones and plan clip spacing according to factory locations or by matching the removed clips.
- Starting at one end, press each new clip into the channel or onto the molding flange until it snaps or seats fully; use needle-nose pliers if access is tight.
- Reposition the molding over the window channel and engage each clip into its mating slot, working from one side to the other to ensure even alignment and full seating.
- Check the molding for gaps, proper alignment, and secure fit; make any final adjustments and trim any damaged molding if needed.
- Reinstall any remaining trim or fasteners, clean the area, and test for rattles or water ingress after a short drive and/or a water test.
