Instructions:
- Park vehicle on level ground and protect painted surfaces with tape or a drop cloth.
- Carefully remove the existing windshield seal and weatherstrip. Use a trim tool or flat screwdriver to pry out old rubber, taking care not to damage the windshield flange or paint.
- Thoroughly clean the windshield flange and glass edge with isopropyl alcohol to remove old adhesive, dirt, and grease. Allow to dry.
- Dry-fit the new weatherstrip pieces to confirm orientation and fitment. Identify the top center points for alignment.
- Apply a thin bead of weatherstrip adhesive to the flange if desired (optional). Lightly lubricate the inner lip of the new seal with soapy water or silicone spray to ease installation.
- Starting at the top center, press the main seal into the windshield channel and work outward toward each corner, seating the rubber fully into the flange channel. Use a rubber mallet or gloved hand to ensure even seating.
- Install the secondary weatherstrip piece (header/drip area) in the same manner, aligning edges and pressing into place until fully seated.
- Trim any excess material with a utility knife if necessary, then wipe away any adhesive residue.
- Inspect the entire perimeter for gaps, and press firmly along the seal to ensure full contact. Allow adhesive to cure per manufacturer instructions if used.
- Test for leaks by gently spraying water over the windshield or running a hose around the seal; re-seat or add adhesive in any problem areas as needed.
