Instructions:
- Prepare vehicle: park on a level surface, set the parking brake, and protect surrounding paint and trim with tape or cloth.
- Remove interior trim panels and any fasteners that obstruct access to the old molding.
- Carefully pry out the old molding using a plastic trim tool to avoid scratching the glass or body; remove any clips if present.
- Clean the mating surfaces thoroughly with isopropyl alcohol, removing old adhesive, dirt, and sealant. Allow to dry completely.
- Dry-fit the new molding along the perimeter of the rear window to confirm orientation and fit. Trim excess if the kit requires.
- Apply recommended adhesive or insert clips per kit instructions. In cold conditions, warm the molding with a heat gun or hair dryer to make it more pliable.
- Starting at one corner, press the molding into place along the edge of the glass and body, working steadily around the window. Use a rubber mallet or firm hand pressure to seat the lip fully.
- Reinstall interior trim panels and any removed fasteners.
- Allow any applied adhesive or sealant to cure per the adhesive manufacturer’s instructions before driving; test for leaks with a gentle water check after curing.
