Outer tie rod end (right hand) designed to replace worn steering components on 1995–2010 Chrysler, Dodge and Plymouth vehicles. This precision-machined steering linkage component secures the steering rack to the steering knuckle, maintaining correct toe alignment and steering responsiveness. Built from hardened steel with a durable protective finish and a sealed ball joint, it reduces play, resists corrosion, and provides long-lasting, reliable operation for safe vehicle handling. Ideal for restoration or routine suspension maintenance, the part restores crisp steering feel and reduces uneven tire wear.

  • Grease (if applicable) and rag
Instructions:
  1. Park on level ground, set parking brake and chock rear wheels.
  2. Loosen front wheel lug nuts slightly, raise vehicle with jack and secure on jack stands. Remove the front wheel.
  3. Locate the outer tie rod end where it connects to the steering knuckle and the inner tie rod/tie rod assembly.
  4. Apply penetrating oil to the castle nut and the inner tie rod jam nut; allow to soak if corroded.
  5. Loosen and back off the jam nut that secures the tie rod end to the tie rod sleeve, counting the number of turns during removal to preserve alignment as a reference.
  6. Remove the tie rod end castle nut, then separate the tie rod end from the steering knuckle using a tie rod end puller or pickle fork. Avoid hitting the knuckle directly to prevent damage.
  7. Unscrew the old tie rod end from the tie rod sleeve and compare length/turn count with the new part to ensure similar toe setting.
  8. Screw the new tie rod end onto the tie rod sleeve to the same approximate position (or use alignment measurements), tighten the jam nut against the tie rod end.
  9. Install the tie rod end stud into the steering knuckle, torque the castle nut to manufacturer specification and secure with a new cotter pin if applicable.
  10. Reinstall the wheel, lower the vehicle, and torque wheel lug nuts to specification.
  11. Because toe/alignment can be affected, have a professional wheel alignment performed after installation to ensure proper steering and tire wear.
